A day on the epic Mitchell Falls Tour!

Discover the Mitchell Falls, the Mitchell Plateau and so much more of the Kimberley on an unforgettable tour of a lifetime. Jumping on the plane in Kununurra at 6am you firstly get to witness stunning views of Kununurra and the Ord Irrigation Area as the morning light is cast across the landscape. Arrive at the Mitchell Plateau airstrip, there you will be greeted by a chopper pilot, who will take you on a thrilling Mitchell Falls flight over the plateau and drop you off at the Mitchell Falls campground. From the campground, you will get to experience a 4.5km walk in which you are guided to Mitchell Falls, observing Mertens Falls and Mertens Gorge on the way. During the walk, you will get the opportunity to see a range of plant and animal life and historic rock art that has been done by the local indigenous people.

Once you get spot above the Mitchell Falls you will have great views up the Mitchell River and depending on the time of year you are there will determine how loud the thundering falls is. Enjoy your provided picnic lunch as well as a swim to cool off. After spending a couple of hours at the top of the falls, you will be get back in the helicopter and experience a second exciting Mitchell Falls flight. This flight back to the airstrip will give you the opportunity to take one in a lifetime photo of the magical four tiered Mitchell Falls, as well as the deep gorges.

During the trip back to Kununurra the trip is certainly not over. During this second plane flight, you will experience more of what the Kimberley has on offer. You will soar over the beautiful Cockburn Ranges and the world famous El Questro. You will then arrive back at the Kununurra airport at 1pm, giving you even more time in the day and keep exploring.
