Hair transplants are widely performed by a surgeon with the major aim of regaining hair on the patient’s scalp. This requires total observation and for the surgeon and his team to come to a profitable conclusion before they embark on the actual procedure. A hair transplant is a surgery which is a permanent solution to many types of hair loss. A hair transplant surgery on an alopecia areata patient will require extra efforts in case it has to be performed simply because it is an autoimmune problem.

A hair transplant surgery has produced desired results for a majority of the patients, but most especially those who find an artistic surgeon. However, there are many myths involved with hair transplant surgeries that need to be settled such as,

1. Hair transplant procedures are only for menThis belief may arise from the fact that many hair transplant clinics advertise themselves with men mainly involved in the posts or the websites. This is absolutely stale, hair transplant procedures, especially FUE are commonly performed on women. The other factor comes from the fact that some surgeons are not fully experienced in conducting hair transplant surgeries on women

2. Hair transplant surgeries always failThe fact is hair transplant is a surgery and a procedure may fail to produce the required results, but this is mostly associated with inexperienced surgeons. A hair transplant in India and even anywhere else requires great techniques and skills after an observation. There should be no over grafting or implanting hair in a hasten manner. The position, angle and the direction must be observed during implanting the hair.

3. Diseases and infections in Hair transplant procedures A hair transplant procedure is a surgery just like a heart surgery or any other that needs proper postoperative treatment. Failure to do that, automatically a path of diseases or infections is paved. To avoid this, one must take the treatments seriously, especially with the antibiotics to avoid infections.

One must stop smoking in the first 2 weeks after the surgery to avoid bleeding and any other undesired occurrence.

4. Hair transplants for only a few patients It may be so, but a hair transplant has many candidates, especially those aged from 23 to 70. Anyone younger or older than the mentioned age must undergo a scrutiny to avoid cases of further hair loss or complications. It is better to get a hair transplant after the type of hair loss has fully matured.

All in all, hair transplant techniques like Follicular Unit Extraction and Follicular Unit Transplantation can be artistically and aesthetically performed to achieve the best results which the patient and the surgeon become proud of.
