From a very small age, we start to prepare ourselves and work with dedication to manage our living. We literally crave for the holidays. After so much of hard work, when we think we have achieved something, the time comes when one is said to leave everything aside and give your life a new drastic change. Retirement is that phase of one’s life that brings in a lot of transformations in everything people used to do from their childhood till the day of their retirement.

There are many concerns that pop ups in one’s mind regarding life after retirement. Many people enjoy their retirement while some doesn’t like the arrival of hollowness in their life routine. Many people are not able to save that much to get through the long run. Finance is one aspect that people worries about the most whole of their life and it is the reason that a person works for so many years to make his life convenient post retirement. Today there are many organisations such as Valic, TIAA Cref and Amica, etc which provides financial support and plans for the retirees to let them enjoy their retirement without worrying about the financial aid.

However the bigger problem for retirees is to leave behind all their busy schedules and live with a new self who is weak and fragile. In this case they have to understand that this change is necessary for them and is a part of life. They have to accept it, but the point is they should not stop living with that as they can still do a lot. Also they feel like they have no one to talk to as their kids are busy repeating the history. To encounter this situation, there are many plans which companies like TIAA Cref offers to improve their lifestyle and bring optimism in them.

Organising get together with friends and colleagues is a nice way to remain socialised as many people of old age start being introvert and in a grief of loneliness. Many people dreamt of doings things in their childhood which they cannot accomplish due to family and responsibilities. It is the perfect time for doing all those things. You can still discover a new you, which may not be very active, very strong, but who is still living. You can go to library and read books. It may appear to be irrelevant but will help you to take actions in your life.

You can take the initiative to go round with your grand children. If they live far away, why not go to an orphanage or a school. Don’t limit yourself to anything when it comes to eating habits, but it is you who have to act prudently and subdue your cravings. You need to be mentally fit to perform actions efficiently. You can meditate. It will not be as boring as it was used to be. Now you definitely want to spend time on yourself. In this age people love to connect and come closer to the almighty God.

There are many groups and organisations where you can go and spend time with people of similar age and interest. You can also take tuitions or write about lessons what you have learned in your life. Connecting with people and expressing yourself will give you a unique happiness. This will not only strengthen you but help the younger people to learn from you.
