Sienna – feel her beauty reserved from the medieval times

Posted: Mar 23, 2014
Before buying your house in Sienna – get a spirit of this truly charming town.
Siena, the most beautiful town in Tuscany, worth visiting and spending a few days in before making a decision of buying a house in Tuscany. The past and the present marriage in harmony in the streets and squares of the town. Doubled with the spiritual power of the Duomo it makes you dive into the very essence of this little place in the heart of the country.
It is in a few days after leaving Sienna when you really start appreciating its beauty. When you are in town, you are too busy to see the most of it, so you are left without the realization how truly magnificent the heart of Tuscany is. But when the time has passed, after you have strolled along the cozy streets, dropped into local cafes and antique shops, talked to the locals and tasted the works of unique Sienna cuisine, then comes the time to recall its charm.
One by one your memory reflects Palazzo Publico and the shell-shaped Piazza del Campo where you can simple sit on the ground or even lie and enjoy the stars in the sky. Then goes the Torre del Mangia, which at first seems scary with its height but when you climb it you can’t help admiring the view below. The black and white Siena Cathedral (Duomo), the baptistry, and many other sights…
Clean, neat streets, quiet in spite of the crowds of tourists walking hither and thither. Pretty restaurants. The very taste of Tuscany cuisine, the best Italian wines. Mild climate and the sun which comes out unexpectedly after you turn over the corner of the street. The hospitable locals who are always welcoming a stranger with a smile. The shopping windows full of best sweets. Siena Jazz festival…
But the first thing coming to your mind is the colour of the fronts and roofs, it is what Siena is famous for, what makes the town landscape united, harmonic, beautiful…That is probably what makes Siena so tempting: the fact it has been kept untouched since the ancient times.
