Holidays mean different things to different people. For some, a holiday means excitement, with adrenalin-pumping explorations and high-octane sports. For others, a holiday means romance, with long romantic walks on the beach or moonlit swims in a lagoon. Still others hear the word holiday and think "party, party, party", with music, dancing, fiestas and clubbing all night long.

For the majority of people, however, a holiday means rest and relaxation, a respite from the everyday grind, and an escape from the dreariness of city life. Fortunately, there’s a place in the Caribbean where this is all possible: the island of St. Lucia, where resorts such as East Winds Inn make it their raison d’être to give their guests authentic luxury breaks that cater to their every desire.

The ideal luxury break

Whether you’re looking for romance, adventure, or a party, East Winds Inn is the perfect base for your Caribbean holiday. From the moment you arrive at East Winds Inn, you are already in the heart of the true Caribbean lifestyle. Situated on 12 acres of gorgeous landscaped gardens, as you wander around the grounds you will find more than 80 species of tropical flowers and birds native to the island. If you’re up for a quick tour, grab their handy guide and try to identify as many as you can.

After your nature walk you may feel like strolling to the open-air beachfront restaurant for your first taste of authentic gourmet Caribbean cuisine. There’s nothing as luxurious as eating freshly caught seafood while sipping champagne and enjoying a glorious Caribbean sunset.

When you retire to the luxurious "rooms" – which are actually detached cottages offering privacy and a gorgeous views of the grounds – you'll enjoy every conceivable amenity, including a sunken shower, TV and WiFi (not that we expect you to spend a great deal of time indoors).

Adjacent to the lush resort grounds is the beautiful Brelotte Bay, where you can spend a day (or a week!) diving, swimming, or just sunbathing. Or, you could opt to simply remain within the grounds and take advantage of the resort's gorgeous swimming pool.

If you’re ready for a bit of adventure, however, East Winds Inn provides easy access to many of the island’s unique attractions, as well as the offerings of neighbouring islands. Some of the must-sees of the area include Mount Soufrière, the world’s only drive-in volcano; the Pitons, iconic twin peaks that are as famous and recognisable Mount Fuji; and turtle-watching at the Gran Anse. If you’re ready to party till you drop, St. Lucia also plays host to many regular events, such as the Gros Islet Jump Up (basically the St. Lucia version of a block party) every Friday evening, and various carnivals and festivals throughout the year - so be sure to bring your dancing shoes!
