More people than ever before are able to design the interiors of their homes to suit their personal tastes. There are plenty of great options out there for furniture, in what many consider to be every conceivable form factor, fabric type, and colour scheme. So why would you decide to go custom instead of just choosing something that’s already available? As it turns out, there are plenty of good reasons to do so.

Non-Traditional Spaces

If your office, living space, or retail floor are non-traditional in any way, whether it’s the size, shape, lighting, or layout, custom designer furniture may be more than a luxury. In some spaces, it can be a necessity. When you need to transition, for example, from a living area, to a kitchen, to a bedroom, without the benefit of walls or doors in a large, open studio or loft apartment, design is everything. You can still easily create a welcoming, inviting atmosphere and use several colour schemes or motifs—but only if you have the right transitional pieces to work with. Even if you opt for mostly off-the-shelf pieces, you’ll find that one or two custom designed pieces go a long way toward creating the right flow.

Domestic Bliss

He wants a giant, cosy, convenient sectional for the living room—she wants something with a funky, eclectic, retro colour scheme. Buying furniture together should be a pleasant adventure, but it’s turning into a source of conflict because there just aren’t very many pieces out there that suit both their needs. Fortunately, that’s the whole point of custom designed furniture: to fit exactly what you’re looking for, even if it’s uncommon. He doesn’t have to settle for a 30 year old garage sale find that’s uncomfortable during a video game marathon, and she doesn’t have to figure out how to make bland, beige upholstery work with her personal style. It’s the best of both worlds.

Your Home is Your Castle

A man’s home is his castle, they say, and they also say that home is where the heart is. If your home is anything, it’s the one place that’s your space. You call the shots, and you make the choices. Everything in your home is customized to your tastes, so why not take it one step further? Custom designed furniture is often comparable in cost to furniture that isn’t personalized. Even when it’s a bit pricier, it’s usually worth it. You expect your furniture to last five, ten, or even twenty years—in some cases, maybe even longer. Why not invest in something that’s perfect for you, your home, your style, and your future? If you have a specific vision of what your personal space should be, you can fulfil that vision far easier if you choose Custom Designer Furniture instead of settling for what’s already out there. Many people find themselves designing their living space around the furniture they’ve settled for. Instead, you can design you furniture around what you actually want.
