Posted: Dec 29, 2017
Microsoft Office is a complete productivity suite comprising a set of applications, servers and services. Since the launch of its first version, we have seen tremendous growth in the Office versions. The latest versions that have gained immense popularity are Office 2016 and Office 365. It is recommended by the experts that you should not install two same software on one PC in order to avoid the software conflicts. But for some reasons you may want to install two Office versions on the same PC. To perform this task, there are a set of instructions you need to follow.
Before you install and run two different versions of the Office suite on the same PC, keep the below mentioned points in mind in order to avoid the possible errors:
- The Office 2016 and Office 2013 version cannot be installed on the same computer, except when it is installed using MSI
- If you want to make your system run two different versions, then make sure you install the earlier version. For instance, if you want to add both Office 2010 and Office 2007 on the same computer, then install Office 2007 first
- Make sure that both the Office versions are either 32-bit or 64-bit version
To make the entire job of running multiple versions of Office easy for you, we have provided the steps for the installation of Office 2007 and Office 2013 side by side:
For uninstalling Office 2007 before or after installing Office 2013, keep the Office product key handy with you. That’s because this key will be required at the time of reinstallation. Now, install the Office 2007 updates from Microsoft update center as the company launched a patch release for the 2007 version in order to make it work together in side-by-side installation with the 2013 version. While installing just make sure that both the versions, i.e. 2007 and 2013 are either in 32-bit or 64-bit.
After installing Office 2007, click Install from the My Account page and the installation of Office 2013 will begin without taking your permission for upgrading. You can now see both the Office versions in All Programs. Office 2007 version will be named as Microsoft Office and the 2013 as Microsoft Office 2013 versions in All Programs. You can now use any of them. However, there might be some applications that won’t work properly.
In such an event, you can contact Microsoft customer support team. The expert technicians working 24*7 will surely provide you the best solution of all the Microsoft Office errors you face during multiple Office installation, using any of its application or at any other point.
