New Bedford Ballet will bring drama and romance to the Zeiterion Performing Arts Center stage with its performance of the fairy tale "Sleeping Beauty" on June 9 at 2 and 8 p.m. Set to Tchaikovsky’s regal score and the choreography of artistic director Rebecca Waskiel-Marchesseault, along with ballet instructor Eugenia Zinovieva, dancers of all ages will enchant the audience in this whimsical interpretation of good vs. evil and the redemption of true love.

The ballet tells the tale of Princess Aurora, who on her 16th birthday accidentally pricks her finger, unlocking the evil Carabosse’s curse. However, the Lilac Fairy casts a spell of her own, so that Aurora will not die, but instead fall into a deep, 100-year sleep — that is until a young prince breaks the curse with his kiss. The story culminates in a wedding gala full of dazzling dancing and costumes in a delightful storybook setting.

However, Priyanka does have beauty tips which help her to feel confident, such as a "staple" red lipstick and a "good hair day".

Speaking to W magazine, she explained: "A great hair wash and conditioning session, like with Pantene's new Micellar Shampoo and Conditioner. It gives my hair the gentle wash it needs to prepare for a day of heat and styling.

"There's nothing better than a good hair day. A good hair day makes you feel attractive, which fuels your confidence and sets you up for success.

"(And) a red lipstick! It's still a staple in my make-up bag, and a must have for me."

But the 'Baywatch' star said the key to her make-up staying flawless throughout the day is to keep skin looking and feeling fresh with a good skincare routine using lots of "hydrating" products.

She explained: "Hydration (is key)! Whether it's with your go-to moisturiser or hydrating your body with water, personally I love coconut water to not only hydrate my skin and body, but it gives me the electrolytes I need to keep moving."

Graduating Dartmouth High School senior, Caroline Mello, embraces Aurora’s sweet and lighthearted innocence, while high school juniors Olivia Cornell and Mary Bancroft dance the parts of the virtuous Lilac Fairy and elegant queen respectively. William Levasseur, former graduate of New Bedford Ballet, returns to play the King. All seek to protect Aurora from the wicked and scheming Carabosse, danced by high school junior Felicia Garro. Guest artist Alex Lantz, company dancer with Festival Ballet, captivates the audience as the Prince with his power and agility, bringing dramatic flair coupled with technical precision to the stage.

Based on the beloved story written by Charles Perrault and later made famous by Brothers Grimm, "Sleeping Beauty" originally premiered as a ballet in 1890 in St. Petersburg, Russia, choreographed by Marius Petipa, who later collaborated with Tchaikovsky to set it to his famous score in 1889.Read more at:long evening dresses | formal dresses melbourne
