More than One Way to Profit from a Commercial Slush Drinks Machine

If you have a retail business and you don't yet have commercial slush machine installed it is certainly something that you should consider. These are the machines that produce the frozen fruit drinks that originated in the US some years ago and were called Slush Puppie and Slurpee. There are different brand names in the UK and around the rest of the world, but they all work on the same principle.

The simple fact is that the profit margins on these slush drinks are extremely high, and the machines don't take up much space on your counter. You don't even have to put them on your counter as you could site them on a stand and put it by the door so that customers can't miss it as they enter and leave your store.

A commercial slush machine can make you a lot of extra impulse sales, because when you have a group of people in the shop and one customer buys a drink the others will all want one too.

Of course, once your customers know that you have a slush machine installed they will come into the shop for the express purpose of buying a cold drink and may well make other impulse purchases while they are there. So they might buy a packet of sweets at the same time. The result is that a slush maker can make you considerable extra profits all round.

What's more is that these machines don't require a lot of extra input from you. There is no plumbing or anything like that required: you just plug them in, fill them up, and you are good to go. They do need cleaning once a week, but that's only a ten minute job. Other than that, there is nothing for you to do aside from keeping the machines topped up. That's important, because when you get a rush - which you will, especially on a hot day - you don't want to have to top it up halfway through serving a group of people because they won't wait around for the machine to freeze the drinks again. Also, the machines run more efficiently when they are full.

A commercial machine can cost from 1,500 to 2,000 or more, so it is an investment, but once you have covered the cost the profits are huge. For instance, one syrup supplier says that if you sell the slush at their recommended prices, a five litre bottle of syrup will produce 100 x 12oz servings which cost you 18p each. Their recommended retail price is 1.20. Do the maths!

Furthermore, there is a way that you can get a machine for nothing. The same syrup supplier also imports and sells the CAB range of Italian slush machines and when you buy a machine from them they will GVIE you free of charge enough bottles of syrup, cups, and straws to cover the cost of the machine. So when you have sold the initial batch, the machine has cost you nothing. You can also lease the machine for less than 12 a week.

Now here's another idea. In the summer when the weather is hot there are fairs and markets up and down the country every weekend and often on weekdays too. Suppose you took your slush machine and rented a stall at one of these events. It doesn't even need to be a big stall. All you need is an electricity supply to plug the machine into and water to mix with your syrups and you are away. On a hot day you could take 600, 700 - maybe even more - with a continuous queue of thirsty visitors all dying for a cold drink!

Here is an even better idea. If you bought a second machine from the company doing the deal above you will get a second lot of free syrups, cups, and straws, and then you wouldn't have to take your machine out of your shop. Certainly you would need someone to man your stall, but just think of all the profits! You could attend an event, or even two, every weekend during the summer.
