From the era of ancient Egyptians, a pair of shoes was designed to fulfill mankind’s perceived, real requirements – support, protection, sturdiness, stylishness and comfort. The footwear companies in India clearly understand such type of facts about shoemaking and manufacture accordingly. Feet withstand pressures and hardships of everyday life. On average, daily walking brings upon feet a force equivalent to hundreds of tons. That’s hard! As per a study, feet are inclined to more injuries than any other body part. Such an inclination underscores the need for protecting feet with high-quality footwear.

Who are the doctors of foot?

Chiropody practitioners are health care pros, having being trained to render surgical as well as palliative care of ankle and foot. Further, chiropody doctors are qualified to recommend a type of pair of shoes that can be worn by specific feet. Such type of practitioners can also offer suggestions about different aspects of foot health.

Children’s shoes

When a child starts to walk, shoes aren’t necessary. Tots are allowed to go on their indoor exploration tasks barefoot or with only a pair of socks. Going barefoot or wearing just a pair of socks helps a child’s feet grow. As children grow, their feet develop. During such times, the requirement for shoes becomes apparent. Children’s feet grow till a specific age, which means their footwear has to be changed from time to time.

A few important points that have to be kept in mind while purchasing a child’s footwear are mentioned below. A child’s footwear should have:-

  • Firm heels

  • Proper cushioning

  • Inbuilt arches

  • Full weight bearing capacity

  • One-half inch of free space between the end of shoe and tip of toes

Also, while purchasing footwear for children, parents/guardians should make kids walk for more than one minute wearing shoes with normal socks. Such an exercise helps in determining whether the kids feel any type of pressure or not?

Women’s shoes

Women are known for their undying love for footwear. Women are known to inflict cruelties over their feet by donning improper footwear. Some of the most common foot-related problems can occur to a woman as she wears high-heeled shoes. It’s nearly impossible to dissuade women from wearing high-heeled shoes such as stilettos, pumps, etc.

Therefore, it’s the best if women wear high-heeled footwear occasionally. Women should wear flats or sneakers for the most part of the day. At present, mens footwear industry in India is bringing a range of comfortable pumps that blends fashion and function. Women should try to look for pumps having cushioned soles.

Men’s shoes

To date, the most classic shoe for men has an oxford style. Such a style can have cap toe designs or wingtips. Further, if a man has an insatiable fashionista within himself, then he can opt for dressy loafers, slip-ons as well as low dress boots.

Further, if a trendier pair of shoe is wished by men, then they should go for sneakers. If men spend an awful lot of time in industry or outdoors, then they can choose safety boots. Such type of boots is sturdier than any other type.
