On the Indian land of Gods, wedding rituals are the most vibrant and meaningful traditions among others. For Indians, these rituals mean a lot and they feel happy to oblige them on the day of their wedding. Be it any religion or caste, everyone has a set of traditions that add value to their existence. Some of them are considered outdated and superstitious, but most of the traditions have a deep meaning attached to them. Science has an answer for Hindu wedding ceremonies, which often bring families together.

Applying henna or mehendi on hands

The Indian brides, and sometimes the groom as well, applies mehendi on their hands. Any Indian wedding is never complete without the tradition of mehendi night, which includes immense dancing and singing. Even though it is a delight to watch women of the house adorned with mehendi, the scientific reason behind it is that it is known to relieve them of the stress that looms during a wedding.

Haldi ceremony

The haldi ceremony takes place in almost every home in India, in which a paste of turmeric or haldi, and gram flour is applied on the face and body of the bride and groom. This involves the entire family to apply this paste on the couple to be wedded so that the evil spirits stay away from them. The science says that turmeric is known for its medicinal properties and the couple acquire a glow on their faces to make them look beautiful on their wedding day.

Wearing bangles

The Indian brides and other females of the family love to wear bangles during special occasions. If you are a female, you must have heard the elders in your family telling you to wear well-fitted bangles. You might not have understood the reason behind fitted bangles, but they are known to press the right pressure points on the hands to stay healthy. The friction of bangles on the wrists keeps the blood flow going and hence keeps women fit.

Applying sindoor

The Indian women are required to wear vermillion or sindoor in the partition of their hair. Although it is a symbol of marriage, science says that sindoor keeps the body relaxed because of the presence of metallic mercury in it. Many Indian women take pride in adorning vermillion on their forehead, no matter it benefits them or not.

The Indian weddings are the most important days in the family. Families in India wait for their own weddings as well as that of their relatives and friends. The colorful marriage ceremonies take place with great pomp and show. The wealthy families may hire Self-Drive Cars in navi Mumbai for the farewell of the bride. The modest families have their own ways to making this day special for the new couple. The foreigners come to India, often with a deep desire to attend a wedding. Many fly from their country just for this specific reason, and they take pride in learning about the Indian wedding rituals.
