Even though Nepal has suffered with political instability and a devastating earthquake in recent decades, tourists are now racing back to once again enjoy its diverse landscapes, from soaring mountains to tropical rainforests. Here we take you through some of Nepal’s most incredible National Parks, including some of the few places left on earth where you can spot the Royal Bengal tiger in its natural habitat. When you are ready to go, contact Brightsun Travel about a range of cheap air tickets to Nepal and secure a safari holiday of a lifetime.

Chitwan National Park

Chitwan National Park is a World Heritage site, with 932 square kilometres of forests, and fantastic wildlife. In Chitwan you can go on a safari adventure of a lifetime, and spot tigers, leopards, rhinos and herds of wild elephants. Here you can stay in luxury tented camps or lodges right at the edge of the park, and wake up to misty forests and a bucket load of anticipation.

Royal Bardia National Park

For something a little more remote you could take a short flight to Royal Bardia National Park, Nepal’s largest National Park, and one of Asia’s largest stretches of tiger habitat, where you can spot the rare Royal Bengal tiger in its natural habitat, as well as leopard, rhino, wild elephants and crocodiles, plus hundreds of species of birds.

Banke National Park

Banke National Park boasts hundreds of tree species and has a large population of tiger, as well as four-horned antelope. Together with neighbouring Bardia National Park, the park makes up an important conservation area in Asia, comprising over 1500 square kilometres of protected area and representing the Tiger Conservation Unit (TCU) Bardia-Banke.

Sagarmatha National Park

Sagarmatha National Park has to get a mention as it is a protected area in the Himalayas of Nepal that provides sanctuary to Mount Everest, the highest mountain in the world. The park is a UNESCO World Heritage area owing to its dramatic landscapes and rare wildlife, including snow leopard and the lesser panda.

Makalu Barun National Park

The Makalu Barun National Park, located in the Himalayas in Nepal, is one of the only protected areas in the world where tropical forests and snow-capped mountains converge, straddling the border with Tibet in the north. The park is also part of the incredible Sacred Himalayan Landscape trans-boundary conservation area in Asia.
