As a real estate agent who’s looking to stand out in the seemingly crowded market, it’s reasonable to wonder what will help your platform stand out.

Real estate websites play a critical role – they act as the salespeople who are out there to advance the course of a company. The only difference is that sites work all day, every day, without ever getting tired or needing to take a sick day off. Websites will attract, inform, and help convert prospects into buying clients. However, they won’t be able to serve an entrepreneur as effectively if they are not well designed, or don’t have the necessary features.

Here are some tips for successful real estate agent websites:

Stick to the goal – Sales

As a real estate agent, always remember that you have only but one true purpose, and that is to make sales. Don’t get mixed up with vanity and hype around technology. Ensure that everything on your platform aligns with your one true goal.

Focus on capturing leads

Since your one true goal is sales, the first thing that you want to focus on is capturing leads. What this means is that your efforts should concentrate on attracting, informing and converting your prospects. The best way to do this is by ensuring that all pages in your platform feature call-to-actions and provide deals that will result in solid leads.

Choose an ideal brand name

Remember your business name is the first thing that people see before anything else. You want to make it as informative and as appealing as possible. The good idea is to ensure that your brand name is associated with what you offer because it will give the visitor more insights at face value and nudge them to want to click in.

Update your content

Visitors and search engines love fresh content. So you should make it a habit of updating the content on a frequent basis. (Suggestion: spare some specific time every day to review and maintain your site’s structure and content) and adjust as needed.

Incorporate IDX and syndication

The best ways to attain your one true goal is by assisting your prospects to get access to their listing of choice and by making your listings known broadly. To succeed in the former, you’ll need to integrate an IDX solution that adds value to your prospect’s search. For the latter, you should syndicate all your listings with online real estate marketplaces like Zillow, Trulia, and Google Base. It’s all free, so there’s nothing to lose.

Don’t kill trust and confidence

Attracting prospects and converting them into buying clients all depend on the level of trust and confidence that visitors have in you. Your site is your first impression and can either make or break you. Make sure everything aligns with your one true goal, including your real estate web design template, content, and brand name.

Don’t dilute your search engine rankings

Instead of using broad-brush or generic terms like ‘home buyers’ or ‘real estate’ go for relevant terms like Philadelphia Real Estate, or Chicago Condos to help search engines (Google, Yahoo, Bing and so on) place you better and appropriately in their listings.
