Marrakech is a fascinating city in Morocco, which has a history that spans thousands of years and offers several cultural attractions for its visitors. While getting around in this city, you'll come across majestic sandstone buildings, busy streets, and old markets. Known as the 'Red City' owing to its buildings and ramparts that are made of red-shaded clay, Marrakech has gained tremendous popularity among tourists since the 1960s. It has also been visited by many of the popular celebrities mainly from the entertainment industry, such as Sienna Miller and 'The Beatles'.

Your holidays to Marrakech would allow you to explore the famous traditional markets of the city, known as 'souks'. They are bustling markets frequented by locals as well as tourists to buy some attractive items from the vibrant stalls. They sell spices, carpets, leather goods, and many other things. You'll surely not miss the architectural wonders during your time spent in the city. At different places across Marrakech, you'll find elegant mosques, archways with intricate carvings, and beautiful gardens. However, the most important place you must visit while holidaying in the city is an old square called Jemaa el-Fna, which has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Upon booking cheap holidays to Marrakech, you'll have greater savings to spend while exploring Jemaa el-Fna. The old square is also the busiest in the entire African region. As you go around exploring this square, you'll certainly come across some talented local entertainers like the fire-eaters, exotic belly dancers, magicians, and snake-charmers. You can also have a great time during the city's important events, such as the Popular Arts Festival and the Marrakech Biennale. If you wish to indulge in some unusual activities while touring the city, head to one of the golf courses or enjoy a refreshing bath at a Turkish-style bathing place called ‘Hammam’.

During your cheap holidays to Marrakech, you can also be a part of the cultural events held in the city. Among them are art and film festivals, such as the Marrakech International Film Festival. It is held every November and showcases the best of Arab and African cinema. The film festival began in the year 2001 and has developed over the years into one of the major global events.
