Known as one of the shopping centers of the world, Paris often brings to mind the names of high-end designers such as, Chanel, Dior, Hermes, etc. However, shopping in Paris doesn’t just mean designers; Paris is also known for its amazing vintage shopping, antique shopping, and consignment shopping. We have found of the best spots in Paris that cannot be missed on a shopping trip.

1. Department Stores: If you like to hit a lot of stores at once, Paris is home to some amazing department stores. Two of the most famous stores, Prinemps and Galeries Lafayette, stock a range of designer brand names and luxury fashions that can all be found in one place in the 9th arrondissement. It is absolutely fine if you don’t intend to shop from Galeries Lafayette, visiting this place is worthwhile. If you are visiting Paris in the season of winter then visit this place with your whole family to enjoy the elaborately decorated seasonal window displays.

If you are looking for furnishings or trinkets for your home, then take a trip to BHV in the 4th arrondissement. If you are in the 7th arrondissement, you can shop at Le Bon Marché, the only Left bank department store- it also has a fantastic food store.

2. High-End Fashion Districts: If designer fashion is a passion of yours, then Paris is your home base for shopping. If you are in the 7th arrondissement, you are right next to the famous "Triangle d’Or"- incorporating Avenue Montaigne, Ave George V, and Rue Francois l er, the Triangle d’Or is where you’ll find the finest Haute Couture shops in the world. Continue towards the Champs Elysees to shop trendy stores such as Zara, Sephora, and the Louis Vuitton flagship store.

These high-end districts let you shop brands such as Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent. Being a most beautiful boulevard, Avenue des Champs-Elysées is also famous for spectacles like the Bastille Day Military Parade, the finale of the Tour de France and of course, shopping!

3. Consignment Stores: If you are in Paris and you want to find vintage designer clothes/designer clothes at a fraction of the original cost, a consignment store is your best bet. Most of the consignment stores are run by women who love, understand, and adore French fashion, making sure you will find some of the best and most unique items to add to your closet. The most famous store, Reciproque, is also the largest consignment store in Paris. Located in the 16th arrondissement, Reciproque contains 7 boutiques and over 7,500 square feet of selling space. The 16th is where shrewd Parisians go to find great designer items at bargain prices. Taking a look around shops in the area will land you some great designer finds.

You can expect a discount from 20% to 80% depends upon the brand and the demand. We all love shopping but the happiness of shopping doubles when it can be done without breaking the bank.

4. Antique Stores: Paris is famous for large auctions of antiques from all over Europe- these are great to attend and very interesting, but you usually won’t find many good deals there and have to be a pretty experienced antique shopper to navigate the sheer amount of items. A better option for the vacationer looking for antiques is The Puces- also known as the antique Mecca of France. It is located off of Rue des Rosiers from the Right Side. There are several interesting shops selling everything from art, Art Deco furniture, fireplaces, mirrors, and interesting decorative furniture. Walking through the area visitors will discover a plethora of antique items in a more comfortable and easily navigated environment.
