A handbag is a woman’s best friend in this age where women are hardworking and travel distances daily. Once in a while, we all like to indulge ourselves in luxury handbags and clutches for girls. When we buy luxury handbags, it comes with the expectation that they will last us years to come. Unlike other bags, branded handbags tend to transcend multiple seasons, making them a good investment. However, the fortune that you spend on it doesn’t equate to the lifespan of your purchase and if you carry your handbag daily, it is vulnerable to a fair share of wear and tear. A luxury bag has good quality and it provides value for your money but the handbag still needs to be looked after to stand the test of time.

The best of bags can be ruined if not looked after properly. The first thing you should probably do is learn how to store your luxury bag. First of all, don’t store your luxury bag in a haphazard way. It is usually advised to keep your handbags stuffed with paper and tissue, and in its original package box if possible. If space is an issue, you can easily keep your tees stuffed in your bags to keep in shape. Do not stuff it with newspaper because the paper might leave ink marks on the lining of the bags. Also, cover the chain-link straps and keep them inside the bag. Last but not least, put it in a dust bag in an upright position.

The next thing that you should know about taking care of your handbags is saving them from moisture. We carry water bottles, perfumes bottles, wet napkins, etc. and all these things contain liquid that could transfer moisture to your bag if there is a leak. Most handbags and clutches for girls come with a sachet of silicone gel to absorb the excess moisture in the air and which you must never throw away. The cold weather and moisture in the air can lead to mold growth. In case your bag has become moldy, take it out of your dust bag and wipe it with a very soft and dry cloth. Also, leave it out in the air for 24 hours.

When you have more than one luxury handbag, the colors tend to transfer. Now, let’s talk about how to avoid color transfer. You must be extra careful while handling colored leather. When it comes in contact with wet clothes or a wet surface, the dye can come off and actually stain your clothes. The same goes for other kinds of leather.

When you go out with a luxury handbag daily, it gets prone to damage, wear and tear, and even stains. So, how will you take care of your handbag when you are out and about. When we go to a restaurant, we usually tend to keep our handbags on the floor. Unless your bag comes with a metal protective feet, it is best to avoid doing that. You can purchase a handbag hanger, which fixes on the table where you can hang your handbag. If you are traveling, try to keep your dust bag with you so that when your bag goes through a security check, it won’t get to expose to the dirty conveyor belt.

Otherwise, also, there are a few general care tips that you can follow to take care of your luxury handbags. First of all, for roomy bags keep a purse organizer. As we know that we keep makeup items and other things with us in the handbag, the pens, and makeup, if left open by chance, can ruin your handbag’s interiors. You should always keep these things in a separate pouch to keep them from spoiling the handbag. Never overload your bag, doing this will distort the shape and damage the leather. If you’ve got a water stain on the bag, let it dry naturally but if it is serious then it is advised to take it to some professionals.

Now, all you have to do is provide your luxury handbags and clutches, some tender love and care. Just follow the steps and make sure your handbags stay healthy and you get a long time with them.
