Highlights of CAT, Get Direct MBA Admission

• In CAT 2019, out of 2.09 lakh candidates who took the exam, 10 candidates have scored 100 percentile. All the 10 candidates are male and from engineering/technology background
• Six 100 percentiles are from IITs, 2 are from NITs and 1 from Jadavpur university
• Maharashtra recorded maximum number of CAT toppers with four from the state. Other 6 CAT toppers are from Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, West Bengal and Jharkhand
• 21 candidates have scored 99.99 percentile in CAT 2019. All 21 candidates are male out of which 19 are from engineering/technology background.
• Highest score among female candidates is 99.98 percentile by a student from BITS Pilani.
• About 75,000 female candidates appeared for CAT 2019
• CAT 2019 result will be available on the official website of IIMCAT for download till December 31, 2020
• Soon after CAT result declaration, IIMs will begin shortlist process for written ability test and personal interview rounds
• The candidates who meet CAT 2019 cut off will be eligible for written ability test and personal interview to be held in February 2020

Calculation of CAT Percentile

Calculation of CAT percentile includes three steps: In CAT, three marks are awarded for each correct answer and one mark is deducted for each incorrect answer. No marks is deducted for wrong answers in non-MCQ type questions.

• Each candidate is first scored section-wise and then the overall score is arrived at by totaling the section-wise scores.
• Thereafter, these section-wise and overall scores (raw scores) are normalized to arrive at scaled CAT score.
• The normalized scores are converted into percentiles which is reported on the CAT score card.
