It might appear that animations within games are similar to those in movies. However, that is a highly common misunderstanding. Although the tools that are used to create those animations are similar and so are the mediums, the processes and techniques that are used are quite different.   • Stop motion animations:

Stop motion animations incorporate tangible matters such as cutouts or clay structures. Their poses are shifted in each frame, eventually leading to a smooth transitioning. It is through extensive work that a few minutes of recording is achieved. However, the technique is highly interesting and captivates attention effectively.

How animations are made

Animations work based on images and illusions that work together to create movement. It is a known fact that the human mind processes images and retain them after their presence exceeds a certain time limit. By using this principle, animations were created. The continuous succession of imagery results in constant motion. Music and voiceovers are added to present concepts with more clarity. Which also adds life to the animation and engages the viewer.

Games are sought to be an interactive experience. Whenever an individual plays the games, they feel the control they have over the character. This gives enough reasons to ensure the quality of animation remains high and appears appealing from every angle.

Enhanced visibility should be taken into account, given how much it impacts on the player’s comprehension. The more life-like the animation is the more physics it’ll be following. That is the core concept of game animations, to look good no matter what the angle is.

For example, by implementing the concept of arcs within animations, the animator is going to have an edge over smooth motions and movements. Not only is that going to add a humanly effect on the animation but influences the player into forming an identity around the character.

Animation within movies

As far as animations within movies are concerned, the animator is only required to focus on a single angle at a type. Unlike animations in games, the creator does not fret over different angles simultaneously. Movies cannot be rotated around and their angles cannot be changed, hence the viewer is only left with a single angle that is being offered to them.

For that reason, animators who work on movies gain the opportunity to cheat in different ways. Ensuring that the animation appears engaging and interesting from a single and main angle is that only concern. However, each set of animation comes along with its lash backs.

And for animations within movies, a major lash back is that the viewer has no control over what they see and how they see it. In a way, the audience is simply going along with whatever is delivered to them and have no autonomy over the imagery.

Animations within movies and games have their requirements and use. Similarly, each technique asks for a different set of skills in order to be crafted to meet viewer’s needs. Whether the animation is being created for a movie or a video game, both are equally vital and recognized by the audience.
