This year's final projects were just debuted in a fashion show featuring a rainbow of styles and collections – from futuristic to ethnic to swimwear and children's clothing. Poppy colors, (lots of tangerine, cherry red, sky blue and mustard) a host of sporty looks and three dimensional elements were all part of the final projects.

The Fashion Design Department at Shenkar churns out 40 designers annually, and this year, watching the collections strut down the runway was especially thrilling. The detail of construction was impressive and the range of broad cultural contexts and thoughtful, innovative work was on par with global trends and entirely inspiring.

While several of the women's collections were wearable right off the runway, even those that weren't still had viewers pining for the appropriate event to wear such dramatic, over-the top garments. Asian themes were abundant, from Harajuku Girls to traditional Shogun uniforms, and the colorful mix was a surprising, innovative take.

The mens collections were equally fresh and extremely detailed, with layers, embroidery, and delicate fabrics all coming into play.
