Looking to explore the many sights and sounds of beautiful Sicily? Villas with luxurious accommodations, beautiful blue oceans, stunning golden sands, wondrous natural reserves, well-stocked museums and so much more awaits you in Castellammare Del Golfo. Read on for more.

The Castle of Castellammare

The famous Castle of Castellammare is living proof of the city’s rich heritage. It was built by the Arabs and was called Al Madarig, or "The Steps", in honour of the steep hill leading up to the bastion. The Normans then took over and enlarged the castle to its current state. Other residential settlements popped up around the area, especially when the Aragons came and made it one of the main ports for exporting wheat from the island. It even played a major role in many Medieval battles, earning it enough recognition to warrant being converted into not just one but four museums: the Archaeological Museum, the Museum of Maritime Activities, the Museum of Water and Mills and the Museum of Productive Activities.

Spiaggia di Castellammare Del Golfo

Also known as the Beach of Castellammare Del Golfo, this is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the area. You have not had a real holiday in Italy until you have had the chance to bask under the glorious sun and swim in the surf of Sicily. Villas, hotels, shops and restaurants dot the area, so it's not hard to enjoy all the luxuries the region offers. The immaculate golden sands are a joy as well, adding even more appeal to Castellammare Del Golfo’s stunning coastal beauty.

Minigolf Green Garden

Looking for a fun activity to pass the time on your Italian holiday? This particular minigolf course is a wonderful tourist attraction, with beautiful gardens serving as the perfect backdrop for good, clean family fun. Twenty courses of varying challenges are available to keep you busy the whole day, and a local shop provides refreshments to keep everyone energetic and on top of their game. You can even visit the course during the night, when the lighting transforms the greens into a hauntingly beautiful play of light and shadow.

The Various Villas around Castellammare

If you're staying for any length of time in Sicily, villas are the ideal way to enhance your holiday. There is a huge array of villas to suit your tastes and budget, from picturesque ones like the Alba Sul Mare to the more spacious and luxurious ones like the Bella Chiara. Each of them has their own unique personality, determined by their amenities and architecture, and they are a pretty effective balm for the weary soul!

Keep all this information in mind and you'll have a pretty good idea of the sights to check out when you first arrive in Castellammare Del Golfo. Do note, however, that there are many other excellent attractions throughout Sicily. Villas are located all over this gorgeous island, so don’t be afraid to take a casual road trip around to really explore as much as you can!
