AT&T (abbreviation for American Telephone & Telegraph) is an American multinational conglomerate holding company with its headquarters in Texas. AT&T was founded in 1885 and had been making an impact ever since. AT&T has introduced multiple features for its users, namely, Wireless devices, TV & entertainment, and business services. Along with such features is the voicemail facility. Visual Voicemail allows the users to listen to voicemail messages from the email-like inbox, make call-backs from the voicemail screen, play and delete messages easily, and manage other voicemail features. Many users claim that the voicemail doesn’t work at times. This blog will discuss troubleshooting AT&T voicemails not working on iPhone.

RESOLVE AT&T VOICEMAIL NOT WORKING ON IPHONE

If you are encountering AT&T voicemail not working issues, then you can try the following solutions and check if it works fine then.

Solution 1: Change the Greeting

To fix AT&T voicemails not working on iPhone, open the phone app on your iPhone and tap the voicemail tab. In the voicemail tab, locate and tap on the Greeting option. If Default is checked in this window, change it to Custom. And if custom is checked in this window, change it to Default.

Solution 2: Restart the phone app

Open the home screen and swipe up on the screen to reveal all the opened apps. Swipe through all other apps until you find the phone up. When you do find it, swipe up to discard or close the app. Now, reopen the phone app and see if the voicemails are now visible.

Solution 3: Reset the password

Another solution to AT&T voicemail not working is to reset the password. Open the settings of your iPhone, tap Phone, and then tap Change Voicemail password. A window for a new password will open, enter the new password and tap Done. Re-enter your new password for confirmation and finally tap Done.

Solution 4: Update your iPhone

One reason for AT&T voicemail not working on iPhone can be outdated software on your iPhone. To avoid this problem, make sure that the iOS on your phone is up to date. To check if there are any available updates, go to the Settings on your iPhone, tap General, and then tap to open Software update. Check if there are any updates available. If yes, then tap to start the update.

Solution 5: Restart your iPhone

Press and hold the side button and the volume down button simultaneously until you see a red slider. Next, drag the slider and wait for a minute. Press the buttons again until you see the Apple logo flash on the screen. This will restart your iPhone. After it switches back one, check if AT&T voicemail not working still.

Solution 6: Cellular connection or Wi-Fi

Another reason for the problem is an unstable cellular connection. If the cellular connection is not stable, it will cause the voicemail to malfunction. Open Settings on your iPhone, tap Cellular, and tap to turn off Cellular data. Turn it back after a minute. Now check if the problem has been resolved.
