This is a specialized instrument that measures the humidity or the level of moisture present in the air at a certain place. It is commonly named as hygrometer. We got to know that why these devices are used but what is the basic meaning of humidity? Humidity is defined as the amount of The water vapor or moisture present in the air. Like, during monsoons, we feel moist and itchy because more water is present in the air rather than other seasons.

As humidity is present in the air, it is practically not visible to humans. The percentage of relative humidity which is the most suitable is generally from 30% to 50%. Thus, to check whether the density of moisture present in the air is ideal or not, Humidity Meter are used. The patients are kept in rooms which have these devices fitted inside as a precautionary step in the hospitals.

These devices are portable and light-weighed to carry them easily. Its approx weight is 160 grams which may differ based on different models. It can measure in temperatures ranging from -50 degree Celsius to 70 degree Celsius. It can measure humidity ranges from 10% to 99%. Humidity Meter are highly accurate and come along with many features. They are highly- resistant to heat and any other kind of energy and are very responsive, i.e. It takes very less time to show the accurate level. Have you ever wondered if the humidity levels are more or less than the defined levels, what will happen? Our health will be affected due to which we may suffer from many lungs-related problems. To control the levels, another type of modified devices are used which are known as humidity controllers. Some hygrometers have humidity controllers attached to themselves to make it cost- friendly. These devices are mainly of three types- capacitive, resistive and thermal. You can buy any of these based upon your requirements and budget. They are cheap but there price may vary depending on the modifications of the meters.

If hygrometers were not invented, what would happen? We would not be able to measure the moisture levels due to which food would not be stored and many people would suffer from different diseases and end their lives. Thanks to Horace Benedict de Saussure, who invented such a great invention in the year 1783.These days, when new technologies, studies and discoveries are coming up and are being discovered by the scientists, people are becoming very health- conscious and serious about. The usage of Humidity Meter have become very frequent and are commonly found in cars, hospitals and even in houses where elderly.people or people suffering from some illness live.

This also found in many appliances which require the humidity level to be normal. For example, they are used in refrigerators so that the food stored in it does not get spoiled due to high or low levels of moisture. These are also used in storage rooms where food and beauty products are stored. High or low levels can spoil the face of the person applying the beauty product. Thus, we can conclude that humidity meter are very useful in different phases of life and are a boon to the mankind.
