Open the Google Photos app on your smartphone.Tap your profile at the top of the screen.Choose photo settings from your list.Take a look at the Backup and Sync option. If it's on, it should be. If it is off, touch to open it and move the switch to the right. It will turn blue and more options will appear now that Backup is enabled.
Here you can choose the upload size, the folders other than your camera you want to back up, if you want to continue the backup when using mobile data or when roaming.
Ways to save to device Fix Google Photos not working
RESET THE PHONESometimes it's just a temporary problem and a quick reboot would fix it. So restart your phone and then try to download the photos.
DOWNLOAD CORRECTLYMany users try to download photos incorrectly. They select the photo on the Photos app's home screen and then tap the three-dot icon at the top. That is wrong. You will only see the option to delete or archive.
VERIFY THE CORRECT LOCATIONWhen you download an old image from Google Photos, you won't find it at the top. Instead, it will be available on the same date associated with the image in Google Photos.
If you haven't found out yet, Google has changed its policy regarding photos. Here's how it plays out: Prior to June 1, 2021, uploads to Google Photos were not applied to your total Google Drive storage. With your base storage, you can upload as many photos and videos as you want and it won't count towards your Drive total. If you have the free 200GB of Google Drive storage, you can upload more than 200GB of photos and it wouldn't matter.https://www.not-working.co/google-photos-not-working-problem
