Choose Morzine for Your Next Ski Adventure

Get Out on the Ski Slopes

The resort is a year-round favourite with visitors who come to enjoy the outdoor playground just as much in summer as they do in winter. For keen skiers, though, this place is a winter wonderland. The Porte de Soleil area, which encompasses the resort, is stunningly beautiful and many of the lower slopes are wooded and typically alpine. Higher up, areas are much more open, but with the excellent signs and good piste maps they are a delight to explore.

The Morzine ski area is linked with Avoriaz and Les Gets and there is a state of the art lift system that serves all the slopes. There are many routes that lead right back into resort, which is especially useful if you want to home to dinner quickly! For expert skiers, the resort offers plenty of opportunities for exploration, and the runs from Pointe de Nyon and Chamossiere are a good place to start. There are also some famous black runs, which include the back side of Mont Chery and the Hauts Forts blacks above Avoriaz.

Of course, you can always hire a guide and indulge in some off-piste action, too. This makes for a truly thrilling day out, but make sure you go with an expert, as professional equipment and guidance is needed to keep you safe and help you get the most from your day.

For the intermediate skier the resort has endless scope - there really is something to suit everyone. With plenty of challenging, yet very manageable red runs and several blue runs at Le Pleney, this area is a veritable treasure trove of opportunity. For less experienced intermediates, Piste B in Le Pleney, which runs from the top of the valley, is a cruisy and fun ride down.

If you have beginners in your group, they will not be left out either. The village nursery slopes are wide and sweeping and, despite being lower down, are well maintained by the use of snow cannons. In Le Pleney, at Nyon and at Super-Morzine, there are some excellent runs for beginners looking to take their next step up in their skills.
