Umrah is a non-obligatory and sunnah pilgrimage for Muslims that holds exceptional rewards for pilgrims. Documents Required

Umrah Visa can only be applied through the channel of a certified travel agent; the ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Saudia Arabia only caters to the visa applications received by their certified travel agents. That’s why one needs to hire the professional services of an umrah travel agent and thus apply for getting an umrah visa.

The requites of an Umrah Visa Documentation are;

  1. If the applicant wants to travel alone for umrah, he must be 18 years old or above. Children under the age of 18 years are only allowed to travel with their family/relatives/guardians.
  2. If the applicant has a non-Muslim name, he/she would also be required to submit a ‘Shahadah Certificate’ confirming that the applicant is a Muslim. The Shahadah certificate can easily be obtained from one’s local mosque or Islamic center.
  3. A Completely filled and duly signed visa application form must be submitted with all the required documents;
  4. One recently captured passport-sized and colored photograph that has a white background. The photograph must contain a full-face view of the applicant i.e., side or angled views are not acceptable.
    • Proof of pre-booked accommodation (hotel information) in the Kingdom for the entire stay period of the pilgrim.
    • Passport of the applicant with at least 6-month validity at the time of application submission.
    • Proof of return flight i.e., confirmed and non-refundable flight ticket’s copy.
    • A vaccination certificate. However, remember that vaccinations might differ depending on the region of your travel.

For how many days Umrah visa is valid?

An umrah travel visa is valid only for the period of 2 weeks. Though the actual validity shown on the document is of 30 days but the extra 15 days are present in order to compensate for any of the flight/travel delays of the traveler. In simple words, once a pilgrim arrives in the kingdom, he/she has to perform all of the necessary rituals of Umrah and do Ziyarath within a 2-week period from its date of arrival. Thus, departing from Saudia Arabia on the 15th day.

Geographical boundaries of an Umrah visa

A pilgrim with an Umrah visa can only visit Makkah, Madinah, Jeddah, and the cities that might come in between these places. Otherwise, a penalty might be fined by the Saudi Authorities if the pilgrim is caught overstaying/traveling/residing in any other place in the kingdom.
