Difference between the Cooler and Heat Sink

A heat sink is a device which is used to transfer the heat from your CPU to the surrounding air. It is also known as the radiator and it is attached to the motherboard with the help of screws.

Cooler is another device which is used to cool down the processor by blowing cold air around it. In most of the cases, the cooler is placed on the processor and the fan is used to blow the air around the processor.

The cooler is designed in such a way that it absorbs the heat from the processor and transfers it to the surrounding air. The air that is blown around the processor will pass through the fins of the cooler and it will dissipate the heat from the processor.

How to Install Cooler CPU on Your PC

Step 1: Remove the motherboard

To install the cooler you need to remove the motherboard from the computer case. It may be difficult to remove the motherboard as it is attached to the CPU with the help of screws. So, make sure that you have a screwdriver to remove the screws from the motherboard.

Step 2: Remove the screws

Once you removed the motherboard, remove the screws from the back of the motherboard. If there are any additional screws in the back then remove them also.
