The highest sky bicycle track in India, which is considered the world’s highest, was constructed by a team of engineers at an altitude of 9000 feet on the mountain peak with a height of 2800 meters.

Location and weather

The Manali city is located in the Pangi Tehsil of Himachal Pradesh, in the foothills of the Himalayas between Kalka to the west and Leh to the east. The town has an elevation of 3,500 feet above sea level and comprises three hillocks separated by narrow valleys.

The area of the town is 11 square km. Manali has a mild climate with temperatures in winter ranging between -3°C to 12°C and summers between 15°C to 20.5°C. Manali is a popular place for trekkers, travellers and mountain climbers. It is also a unique destination for snow leopards and serow deer along with other animals.

Manali is a cosmopolitan town with a population of around two lakh, situated at an altitude of 3000 m above sea level.
