There is a lot happening in your thirties! You might be building a family, advancing in your career, moving, taking care of parents, losing friends, changing jobs, etc. etc.! You might even be juggling some of these things all at once. It's a lot on your physical, emotional and mental health. You need less stress in your life. Really, no matter what age you are, start adding some peace in your life by doing these five things in your thirties:

  1. Get ahead financially

If this seems like a scary or unattainable idea, rest assured, it is manageable and never too late to start! If you want to live a more stress free life, then you need to start creating your own financial freedom. When you know where your money is going, you’ll feel more confident in your financial decisions and won’t have anxiety about your money situation.

Find specific ways to get ahead financially

  1. Create boundaries

It may seem like everyone wants something from you–your time, energy, decisions–so it’s imperative that you set some boundaries. If your mother in law is causing stress in your life about your kids, know where you draw the line. If a coworker takes advantage of your hard work, be firm with what you allow. Boundaries express and honor YOUR NEEDS!

  1. Educate yourself

Formal or informal education, it doesn’t matter, as long as you’re learning and growing. The more you know the more confident you can feel about your choices, your money, your relationships, your passions, etc.! When you’re growing, you’re living a more fulfilled and happier life.

  1. Create a plan

We’ve already established you have a lot of stressors during this season of your life, but the best way to feel like you have a (small) handle on them is to form a plan. This is a plan just for your wants/needs and not what any societal pressures put on you. So be bold in your future, whatever that may look like. And remember, plans can and will change as you go so nothing is set in stone.

  1. Establish self care

Adding actionable self care ideas to your already busy schedule may not sound stress free, but by taking time and care for yourself, you will see a difference in your life. Self care is not a luxury but a necessity and the sooner you realize that in your life, the better off you’ll be. So find activities, books or products that work best for you so you can have a more stress free life.

Your thirties can have a lot of ups and downs, big and small changes, but by taking advantage of these 5 tips, you can feel confident in handling whatever life has to offer.
