Abortion may be necessary for a number of reasons. However, the decision is a personal choice of a woman who depends on a lot of factors. Deciding for an abortion may be a difficult thing to do and there are end numbers of physical, mental, social and other factors that may influence a woman to go for an abortion. Medical reasons for abortion

Sometimes, terminating a pregnancy can be stressful for women, but due to several medical reasons, it may be necessary to get an abortion. Following are a few medical reasons for getting an abortion:

  • If continuing with the pregnancy can cause greater risk of life to a women’s life
  • In case there are some birth defects which can affect the quality of life of a child.
  • If there is a greater risk of mental and physical illness for both woman and the baby. Sometimes, there can be severe mental or physical disability for the mother and the child and this may be life threatening as well.
  • Complications which may occur during the labor pain is one of the reasons doctors might want you to undergo the process.
  • If the mother has some sexually transmitted diseases which may affect the child as well.

Other reasons:

There are various other reasons because of which a woman decides to end her pregnancy. These can be social factors and personal issues as well.

  • In the case a woman is unable to cope up with proper child care, she may decide to end the pregnancy.
  • If the condition of the family is bad or poor where the woman will not be able to give the essential things to the child, she may plan to end her pregnancy.
  • Sometimes, the contraceptive pills may not work appropriately and a woman doesn’t want to get pregnant, that time, she can take the decision of abortion.
