Why You Should Consider a Public Proposal Idea

While there a number of different ways to propose, something you will have to decide early on is whether you want your proposal idea to be public or private. Deciding which one is best for you entirely depends on your girlfriend’s personality and on your relationship. However, don’t be too ready to dismiss a public proposal idea as it can have some advantages.

One of the primary reasons to propose in public is the memorability factor; proposing in a place that has a significant or romantic meaning, whether it’s in front of family and friends or strangers, will transform the asking of a question into a special occasion that both of you will always remember. The organising and planning that often goes into any public proposal idea will also be greatly appreciated by most women, as it will show to everyone just how much you really want to marry her and create a special memory with her.

Another wonderful thing about proposing in public is the amazing atmosphere, as public proposals can often prompt spontaneous applause or cheering, and if your girlfriend is someone who likes to be the centre of attention, she’ll really enjoy the moment. Having other people present at your proposal can often add to the fun factor, as all the heightened enthusiasm can really add to the mood. As is often the case with public proposals, it is highly likely that the moment you ask the woman you love to marry you will be captured on camera or video, giving you both something to enjoy in the years to come. Any public proposal idea is generally perceived as sentimental – which always has the approval of women – as it shows that you’re confident of your feelings and that you are not afraid to show, not only your girlfriend, but the whole world how you feel. Regardless of where or how you end up proposing – whether it’s at your girlfriend’s favourite restaurant, during a concert or at a party in front of your families – it is likely to make a great story which you can tell your future children and grandchildren.

However, as always, the most important thing to consider when planning a proposal is your partner – only plan something elaborate and dramatic if your partner is likely to receive it well. Whether public or private, a marriage proposal will signify the first big step the two of you will take towards marital happiness, and it is important to get it right.
