Raipur is the capital city of Chhattisgarh. It is a developing commerce city housing number of industries and businesses. The city is also into agriculture, and harvesting rice crops is the chief agricultural practice in the city. Meanwhile, the city is also making it huge in the tourism domain. Bestowed by the best of nature, culture, history, and number of places to visit in Raipur, the city makes one fine destination.

Raipur, a beautiful city, which is also the capital of the Chhattisgarh state, is one of the most developed cities in the region. The city was formerly a part of the rather larger state Madhya Pradesh, and it was in the year 2000 when the state of Chhattisgarh was formed with Raipur being its capital. Meanwhile, there are only a few cities or regions in India that are most blessed by fertile lands, sufficient water, and soothing climate; Raipur is one of them. The city has long been one of the chief agricultural cities producing varied and large amounts crops and vegetables every year. The fertile lands of the city are most ideal for harvesting the rice. The city yields a significant percentage of the total rice production in India, and thus is referred as the Rice Bowl of India.

Meanwhile, like mentioned above the city is one of the most modernized and commercial cities in the region. In fact, the city is the most urbanized city in the state. The city's true journey towards modernization began on 1st November 2000, when it was declared as the capital of the parent state. Following the event, the city experienced the establishment of numerous industries and businesses in different parts of it. Today, housing all major financial centers, companies, banks, educational institutions, factories, and number of consumer servicing companies, etc. the city has turned into the center of all the actions. The growth of the city also reflects on the fact that it is home to a state of art airport, which is replete of all the modern amenities and facilities, and connects the city to all major cities in India. The Swami Vivekananda International Airport or the Raipur airport, as it is often called is located to the south of the center of the city and is about 15 km away. The good thing is that frequent flights of all major air carriers serve the airport. There are frequent Raipur to Mumbai flight and Raipur to Delhi flights.

In the meantime, as the city is also developing in the tourism domain, number of travellers across India are visiting the city. Whether, it is to explore the royal history of the multiple indigenous empires who ruled the city or to explore the thickly covered forests and the raw wildlife, Raipur makes one fine destination. The city is in the vicinity to the popular Kanha National Park and the Hirakud Dam, which are the two of the most popular tourist destinations in India. Besides, the city itself incorporates a number of cool and interesting places to visit in Raipur. The most significant ones include: Rajim, MM Fun City, Hajra, Civic Centre, Arang, Barnawapara Sanctuary, Bhilai Steel Plant, Burha Talab, Champaran, Dhamdha, Balaji Temple, and Mahant Ghasi Das Memorial Museum, etc.

Raipur is known to experience tropical climate, and summers here are usually hot and humid. Plus, it also gets quite cold in winters with the temperature falling as low as 5 degree C. The best time for Raipur tour is from October to March when the climate is most lovely.
