CAT 2015 Calendar: Important Dates

Common Admission Test (CAT) is one of the most popular management exams in the country. It is conducted to carry out admissions for 13 Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and close to 100 non IIMs.

CAT is the only gateway to studying at one of the top B-schools in the country. After the announcement of CAT result all the eligible candidates are required to appear for Written Aptitude Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). All the IIMs shortlist candidates on the basis of these three rounds.

IIM Ahmedabad released the official notification on July 26, 2015. The notification entailed the important dates and changes introduced in the exam pattern. CAT is going to be a late exam this time. It is scheduled to be conducted on November 29, 2015.

The online registration for the exam started on August 6, 2015. The registration window will close on September 20, 2015. The first step to register for the exam is to visit the official website – www.iimcat.ac.in. Then candidates are required to register themselves, a registration number and password will be generated. Using the generated credentials personal details, scanned passport sized photograph and scanned signature have to be uploaded. Lastly candidates have to submit the registration fee. The fee to be submitted is Rs. 1600 for General/NC-OBC, while Rs. 800 for SC/ST/PWD-DA category. The payment can be made online via debit, credit card or net banking.

The admit cards will be available for download on October 15, 2015. Candidates will have to log on to the official website with their registered user ID and password, only then they will be able to procure CAT admit card. If a candidate has registered more than once, Cat 2015 centre will consider only the last registration.

Now only 17 days are left for the online registration for CAT exam. Aspirants should check the eligibility and if they fulfill it should not wait anymore to register. The eligibility to appear for CAT 2015 is that a candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree with at least 50 percent marks or an equivalent CGPA (45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA) categories).
