Menorca has long proven to be a very popular holiday destination, and one of the most popular places to stay is Cala Galdana. Villas here attract people throughout the year, but especially during the hot summer months.

Cala Galdana is located in the south of the island on the coast, and is an easy journey from the airport. The largest town nearby is Ferreries, but many visitors find that Cala Galdana has everything they need to enjoy a relaxing holiday.

Relax on the Beach

As you might expect, one of the biggest draws is the beach when you stay in Cala Galdana. Villas are often located within walking distance, meaning you can wake up in the morning and take a dip in the warm, clear waters before breakfast. Menorca is not exactly short on excellent beaches, but this is one of the best that you will find. In fact, the beach here has been awarded the Blue Flag, meaning it is considered very safe. You'll be able to relax on the sand, swim in the sea or take part in a number of activities – you could spend your entire holiday on the beach here and never get bored.

Discover the Surrounding Countryside

Walking is another very popular activity for tourists who stay in Cala Galdana. Villas in this resort provide the perfect base to enjoy some of Menorca's spectacular countryside, and it makes a pleasant change from lying on the beach all day.

For a start, you can go for a walk along the Cami de Cavalls, a coastal path that goes all around the island. Walking along the coast, you will come across hidden coves and beaches that you may well be able to enjoy all to yourself. Then there is the stunning Algendar Gorge. This limestone gorge is the most impressive of its kind on the island. You can walk right into the gorge from the resort, where it ends at the sea, and it's a great way to see more of Menorca's wild and rugged countryside.

Other Things to Do

There are plenty of other things to do in Cala Galdana as well. If you are visiting as a family with young children, there is a water park where they will be happy to spend hours. You can also arrange boat trips, hire bikes, play mini golf and enjoy a range of other activities both on and off the water. There are plenty of family friendly restaurants to choose from, too, so you can take your pick from something different each evening.

It's easy to see why so many people book holidays in Menorca and choose Cala Galdana. Villas are very popular here, and it really is the resort that has it all.
