It could also be the outdated printer drivers or the corrupt registry or the corrupt file apart from various other reasons. If you want to get the windows 7 printer working, cleaning printer service spooler is a solution. - Outdated printer driver can be the reason of the clogging of the printer spooler service and will not work in a proper manner. One will have to update printer driver on a regular basis and whenever the person needs it. You can have a search for the printer drivers either from the manufacturer’s website of the printer or through the windows update utility. It is advised to get the printer drivers from the website of the manufacturer as these probably have the updated and well written driver software. When it is done, correct to the printer and commence printing. If you are still facing the problems, you can proceed to the next step.
- In the Start search box, click START and type SERVICES. After this, right click SERVICES.EXE and then click RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR. If in case prompted, provide admin password and afterwards click CONTINUE. After this, look for PRINT SPOOLER, do the RIGHT CLICK and then click on STOP button. Leave the SERVICES window opened and go for the 3rd step.
- Empty the PRINTERS folder in order to clean the printer spooler service. For doing this; click START, COMPUTER, SYSTEM32, SPOOL and PRINTERS. On the PRINTERS folder, select all files and delete them. Before performing the deletion, ensure proper connection of printer to computer alongwith all printing jobs in spooler. Switch to SERVICES window and search for PRINT SPOOLER. Go for the right click and then select START.
- Click START and point towards DEVICES AND PRINTERS.
- Operate registry cleaner program in order to clean the corrupt and left over registry keys, sub-keys or unused/removed programs.
