Learn Hebrew from Signs
Posted: Jul 03, 2017
Israelis are very proud of their culture and language. Not every tourist can understand oral Hebrew, and the written language is even harder. Some find it impossibly difficult to learn Hebrew the usual way, reading books and sitting for hours memorizing words from vocabularies. In a modern world when everyone is busy with a lot of diverse issues and various business affairs, it seems hard to find time for monotonous and punctilious language studies.
Language practice in a foreign country seems far more productive in terms of language learning, which is very reasonable. Especially in such a beautiful and friendly country as Israel. If oral Hebrew is easier to learn while being in Israel, what about written language?
Aufgang Travel has an answer for you. Special for our readers, we have found a wonderful idea of so-called Street Hebrew language education. ‘What do you mean?" – you are going to ask. It’s all simple. When you come to Israel, follow the signs. Try to memorize and make pictures of the different words and phrases written on signs along the streets of any Israeli city.
If you have no idea what a phrase means, ask locals. They are very positive and friendly, so you will not wait long for an answer. However, if there are no locals nearby, or you are simply a very shy person, search for the Hebrew phrases with translation apps or sites.
If you’re a visual lover, stroll along the cozy streets of Israeli towns and cities to explore street art. A lot of graffiti will help you to learn the language. Moreover, they are bright and often go with a picture. So, the meaning could be comprehensible.
But anyway, as we often say to our clients, it is always better to learn the language BEFORE you go to a country.
