Properly Close the Input Tray

Reload the Paper in the Paper Tray

Sometimes the paper is not loaded properly in the paper tray which prevents the tray from closing properly. It is advised to check the bundle of paper and properly set it into the input HP paper tray.

  • Once done, push the photo tray as far as possible and remove all the paper that is loaded into the tray.

  • Arrange the stack of paper and then insert it into the paper tray.

  • Make sure the paper is properly inserted and then lock the input tray into place.

  • Now check the "Have you changed the paper" message? If it appears on the screen, do not do anything until the message does not fade away.

Check the Obstacles which Prevent Paper Tray to Close

  • Turn off the printer and pull the input tray towards yourself.

  • Remove the loose sheets as well as the output tray.

  • Try to locate if there is any obstacle inside it. If there is anything like paper residue, loosen paper or anything else, remove everything.

  • Once done, bring back the input as well as the out HP paper trays back into the right place.

  • Close the paper tray and then restart your printer.
