Canon Printer Cartridge Ran Out of Ink Error Code E13 or E16
Posted: Apr 05, 2018
The printer is such a machine which at one moment will work smoothly and then immediately the other moment you either won’t be able to print at all or even if you could print, the machine doesn’t deliver the type of print you want. This problem can happen with every printer, no matter of which brand it belongs.
If you are a Canon Printer user then also you will face the technical issue, although most of the time the issue is linked to printer supplies or hardware. Sometimes, a part of the machine gets damaged or its lifecycle ends, whereas at other times, the printer lacks in the supplies like ink, toner or paper etc. One such Canon printer error is E13 or E16. You will encounter these error codes with a message that your printer cartridge runs out of ink. Ink cartridge is a consumable part, which needs to be replaced after they become empty.
Some people keep continuing with the empty cartridge, such as people think that they will replace their colored cartridge when their black cartridge will also run out of ink. This is so because when one installs a complete package of the cartridge at once, it becomes convenient as well as cheap. But still, we will suggest that you should replace the ink cartridge on time. An empty cartridge will not only degrade the print quality but it will also put a strain on the print head and can cause damage.
One more thing I would like to mention here. To save money many people decide to refill the cartridge, but that is not recommended. Refill cartridge will not give you your desired print and it will also affect the print head. In fact, you should also not go for third party cartridges as they will also have the bad effect on print quality and machine. So, one should always go for the genuine cartridge to handle this issue.
Please follow the given instructions to fix the issue:
- Switch on your Canon Printer machine, the machine will display the message.
- Then press and hold the Stop/Reset button.
- Along with that, press and hold the power button.
- Wait for 3-6 seconds until you see a display change.
- Then release both buttons, this will switch off the printer.
- Now again wait for some 5 seconds and switch on your printer.
