How To Set Up Office Cubicles In Style

Among people who work in office spaces, there are decisively mixed reviews as to whether or not cubicles are a good thing or a bad thing. Some people prefer cubicles since they provide workers with their own space and help them to avoid office distractions that would result in an open office environment. But then again, that’s exactly why some people don’t prefer the office cubicle set up; they don’t like how they are distanced apart from their fellow workers, and many view the cubicles as being boring and bland.

However, what many of those people discount is the idea of setting up their own office cubicle in style. It doesn’t matter whether you decorate your cubicle colorfully, or just add some neat accessories to it, there is absolutely no reason why you shouldn’t ‘customize’ your cubicle space just to how you need it. If you don’t, you really won’t have a whole lot to look forward to on your drive to work from home.

Many office workers already set up their cubicle so that they have photos set up of their families and add whatever they need to the cubicle for convenience, such as a more comfortable chair and something to hang up their coat or jacket with. But those are boring things that anybody could set up without putting any real creative thought process into it. What we are talking about here is putting some fun into your cubicle.

For example, you could add a small bookshelf of your favorite books. You might have ‘work books’ that you keep in your office at all times, but the kind of books that you would put in the bookshelf would be from your favorite collection, that you can turn to during a break or when you’re feeling stressed out from feeling locked up in your cubicle all day. You can also decorate the walls of the cubicle with artwork, plants that can survive indoors and away from light, or you could add a Gold or a Betta fish bowl. The list of possibilities for making your cubicle are more fun place to work truly are endless.

Lastly, one major reason why critics of the office cubicle format don’t care for it is because it’s very difficult for workers to communicate with each other. You could consider getting only half height cubicles, if the power in the office to make that decision lies in your hands, so that you can communicate with your fellow office workers better. You can also try grouping the cubicles together so that workers who perform similar tasks in the office space will be able to communicate with each other more effectively as well. As you can see, all that it takes is just a little planning to set up your cubicle so that it’s a more pleasing and not so bland place to work every day, while maintaining the privacy and personal space that does not exist in an open office format.
